Samantha Myhre – Lead Dyer

Sam is the creative force driving the RavensWood story.  She has always been inspired by colour and since a very young age, been playing with string.  RavensWood is a dream come true for Sam, having left her corporate life in Calgary, she followed her heart to begin her life with David in their historical home in Nova Scotia in 2016.  The Studio is located at the end of the line for the historical underground railway of the loyalists.  Originally built as the rectory for the “Old” St. Edwards Church – (est. 1791), in 1841, many families later, stands on the hill overlooking the beautiful Annapolis Basin that drains into the famous Bay of Fundy.  Along with the tidal water view, the Studio backs onto nearly 200 acres of forest land. Walks in the forest or on the beach with Harlee and David are the inspiration for much of RavensWood’s creations.  Outside of the studio, far from her “high heel days” of another life, you are more likely to find her in rubber boots, playing fetch with Harlee or chasing chickens around the garden. Sam’s famous quotes would include the words…. “What if…?”

David Myhre – Lead Production/Shipper Receiver

David is the reason RavensWood has a beginning.  On a trip out west, David met Sam in 2014.  A year later the two were engaged and talking about what was next in their lives. His love of Nova Scotia was what brought Sam to the Maritimes.  David is always ready to support the studio when he isn’t saving lives in his real job as a paramedic.  Full time support in the studio includes machine maintenance, production manager, shipping, receiving and making sure Sam’s coffee cup is full – for the safety of all those around her. He is known to have his hand at the dye table occasionally and is always RavensWood’s biggest fan.
