Welcome to our 2nd Annual KNITTING BY THE SEA RETREAT This year’s theme is  "Travelling Stitches" November 12-15, 2026 at the beautiful White Point Beach Resort on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. This purchase is PER PERSON.  Please leave a note with your purchase as to who your roommate will be so we can register you appropriately at the resort.

Set aside your worries and let us look after you. Now is the time to reserve your spot to be a part of the RavensWood's “Story of the String”. 

Settle in Thursday evening with our retreat guests for dinner and a social gathering. Tuck in to rest your mind before an optional class Friday morning.  We will be exploring the technique of creating travelling stitches (a.k.a. cables) this year.  Whether you choose to design your own or work on the cowl pattern we provide, the group will explore these magical twisting stitches.  The class will include:

  • Reading charts and written instructions,
  • How cables change your fabric.
  • Choosing the right colourway to show off your design.


Bring your WIPs (Work In Progress) that need attention or the pattern that you've wanted to start but just haven't had time.  There will be plenty of time to relax in front of the fire in our private RavensWood “den” with your personal projects including one on one assistance should you need it.

Friday evening we will take in some local live music at the White Point Beach Lounge. Of course knitting is always an option. Yarn Bombing is encouraged at the resort and we intend to oblige. (More details to follow).

Awake refreshed to do it all again on Saturday, including the option of visiting the White Point Beach Christmas Market happening at the resort.  Saturday evening we will be gathered for a true Nova Scotia social including the tradition of sharing a “Party Piece.” (More info on this to follow).

After two and half full days of rest, learning, playing and time making new friends, we will share a breakfast and then part ways at your leisure promising to meet again soon.

We hope your stars align and that you will be able to join us this fall. In order to keep this retreat intimate we have limited attendance to 20 participants. 

Full Purchase Price ($1220.33) includes: 

Three nights accommodation at the White Point Resort, Dinner Thursday evening, All meals and nutrition breaks Friday, Saturday and breakfast Sunday morning, gratuity and applicable HST tax.  Not included is your transportation to and from the event, alcoholic beverage purchases and additional shopping.

Please Note:  Cancellations prior to September 30, 2026 will receive a full refund.  CANCELLATIONS AFTER  SEPTEMBER 30, 2026 are NON-REFUNDABLE. RavensWood reserves the right to cancel the event on or before OCTOBER 1, 2026 and will refund your reservation for the retreat in full.  Purchasing your reservation acknowledges that we are not responsible for any incurred travel fees.
